Herbal Remedy History In A Nutshell

Since prehistory, humans are known to use herbs as remedies for all kinds of ailments and over a thousand species of plants were recorded for their healing properties. A good example is the depiction of plants as healing agents in the Lascaux caves in France which was dated with Radiocarbon dating process and the result revealed that it was made between 13,000-25,000 BCE

Chemical compounds produced in plants especially those made to protect themselves against predators such as toxins and to fertilize such as pollens, are all known to have therapeutic actions to human bodies. Some well known examples are inulin from the roots of dahlias, quinine from the cinchona, morphine and codeine from the poppy, and digoxin from the foxglove.

Today, herbal medicines are categorized as complementary and alternative medicines (CAM). CAMs are becoming very popular but especially so in Europe where CAMs are mainly produced.

There are numerous types of CAMs, but the most popular of all are herbal teas which are made mainly of leaves, roots and barks of plants. Well known herbal teas are chamomile, peppermint and ginger teas.

Second most popular remedy is the herbal tinctures, which are made by soaking the medicinal parts of plants in alcohol extracts and as a result, they can be stored for a much longer period of time. An herbalist can combine many tinctures and made them into one formula for a particular patient. Similarly, fluid extracts of plants are made in the same way as the tinctures, except that they are much stronger.

Powdered herbs and tablets are probably the easiest to consume and nowadays almost every medicinal herb has been made into tablet and capsule forms. However, some traditional herbalists may argue that the process in making tablets and powder which involve heating and drying may reduce the medicinal properties of the plants.

Herbal ointments and essential oils are for external use only. Ointments are used to treat wounds and rashes, while essential oils are used mainly because of their therapeutic scents that are believed to have effects to the human body and mind. This type of therapy is called aromatherapy and is increasingly becoming very popular all over the world.

Herbal remedies have been around for thousands of years and are hear to stay. They provide a great alternative to over the counter medicne at a greatly reduced price. Anyone who is considering to try an herbal remedy should give it a go because the Pro’s greatly out weight the Con’s.

Why Is Vitamin D So Important?

In the last 20 years, there has been tremendous research in the field of vitamin D. The findings are astounding! We now know that vitamin D affects almost every organ system in the body. New Scientific Research Links Vitamin D Deficiency to Cancer, Heart Disease, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Kidney Disease, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Lupus, M.S., Asthma, Thyroid Diseases, Dental Problems and Depression.

We now know that:

Vitamin D plays a vital role in the health of muscles and bones. It not only helps in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestines, but it also exerts a direct effect on the health of the bones. Therefore, vitamin D can prevent as well as treat muscle aches, bone pains, chronic fatigue and osteoporosis.
Vitamin D plays a vital role in the normal functioning of the immune system. Therefore, vitamin D can prevent as well as treat immune disorders such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, Type 1 diabetes, Crohn’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). By boosting up your immunity, it can also protect you against infections such as common colds and tuberculosis.
Vitamin D controls the growth of normal as well as cancerous cells. Hence, vitamin D can play an important role in the prevention as well as treatment of various cancers especially cancer of the colon, prostate, pancreas and breast.
Vitamin D stimulates the production of insulin from insulin – producing cells in the pancreas. It also reduces insulin resistance. Therefore, vitamin D can help in the prevention as well as treatment of Type 2 diabetes.
Vitamin D inhibits the Renin Angiotensin Aldosterone System (RAAS). Renin is a chemical normally produced in the body. It leads to the production of another chemical, called Angiotensin which is responsible for maintaining your blood pressure. Angiotensin also causes release of another chemical, called Aldosterone which is also involved in maintaining your blood pressure. Together, this system of inter-related chemicals is called Renin Angiotensin Aldosterone System (RAAS).  If RAAS becomes overactive, it causes high blood pressure (hypertension), kidney disease and heart failure. Now consider this: Vitamin D inhibits RAAS, and therefore, it can prevent hypertension, kidney disease and heart failure.
Vitamin D can prevent coronary heart disease through a number of mechanisms which include inhibition of RAAS, reduction in insulin resistance and reduction of inflammation in the blood vessel wall.
Vitamin D affects the normal function of the skin and therefore can be helpful in the treatment of skin disorders such as Psoriasis.
Vitamin D affects the health of the teeth and therefore can play an important role in preventing many dental problems.
Vitamin D affects one’s mood and therefore can play an important role in the prevention and treatment of mood disorders such as depression.

Isn’t it obvious that vitamin D plays a crucial role in maintaining our health?  It’s a breakthrough discovery!  Now we can truly prevent and treat a number of diseases through proper vitamin D supplementation.

“Why hasn’t my Doctor told me about all the beneficial effects of Vitamin D?”

Unfortunately, this exciting new knowledge hasn’t reached the radar screen of most physicians, nor has it reached the curriculum of medical schools. Why? Because no drug company is behind it.  It’s not a drug. It’s cheap and you can obtain it over the counter. Unfortunately, most of our medical research, medical guidelines for practicing physicians and medical knowledge in text books is dependent upon drug companies in one way or another. Sad but true!

It may take years before this revolutionary knowledge finds its way into medical books and physician’s offices. But you don’t have to wait that long. Get involved in taking charge of your health.  Reading Power of Vitamin D is a step in the right direction.

Take Your Natural Vitamin The Old-Fashioned Way – Eat It!

Take Your Natural Vitamin The Old-Fashioned Way – Eat It!

These days, it seems like we are always turning to science to give us the answers to our problems. When it comes to nutrition, the answer is often a vitamin supplement. But do we really need them?

As it happens, vitamins and minerals are plentiful in a balanced diet. By eating the right foods to get a complete range of nutrients, you may be able to give up those daily tablets after all. A natural vitamin is best.

Vitamin A – It’s at the beginning of the alphabet so why not start there. Also known as retinol, vitamin A affects your vision, skin, bone growth, immune system and reproductive functions. It’s easy to find in a variety of foods; just remember to think yellow! Good sources of natural vitamin A include carrots, mango, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, pumpkin and the decidedly un-yellow broccoli.

Vitamin B1 – This is more commonly known as thiamin. Your body uses it to control metabolism and ensure your nerves function properly. There are a wide range of foods containing this vital nutrient, including spinach, green peas, tomato juice, watermelon, sunflower seeds, pork and soy milk. Even the pickiest eater will find something that provides them with their daily dose of natural vitamin B1.

Vitamin B2 – You may know it as riboflavin. This one also works on your metabolism and promotes good vision and healthy skin. Some of the best sources for this natural vitamin are spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, eggs, milk, liver, oysters and clams.

Vitamin B3 – This is sometimes called niacin, and it’s also important for your metabolism, nervous system and immune system. You can find this natural vitamin in foods like spinach, potatoes, tomato juice, lean ground beef, chicken breast, tuna, liver and shrimp.

Vitamin B6 – This is a key nutrient to keep your blood cells healthy. To get more of it into your diet, try some of these natural vitamin sources: bananas, watermelon, tomato juice, broccoli, spinach, acorn squash, potatoes, white rice and chicken breast.

Vitamin B12 – This natural vitamin is used when your body makes new cells, and also helps to keep your nervous system working properly. You can get it from eating animal products like meats, poultry, fish, shellfish, milk and eggs. If you don’t eat animal products, you will probably need a vitamin supplement to make sure that you’re getting enough of this vital nutrient.

Vitamin C – When cold and flu season strikes, it is time to load up on this immune system builder. Vitamin C also plays lesser-known role in helping your body to absorb iron. Some of the best fruits and vegetables for stocking up on it are spinach, broccoli, red bell peppers, snow peas, tomato juice, black currants, kiwi fruits, mangos, oranges, grapefruits and strawberries.

Vitamin D – This one helps your body to absorb calcium, and may also play a role in maintaining strong muscles. While we can produce this vitamin ourselves by exposing our skin to sunlight, many people don’t make enough of it that way. Try supplementing your natural vitamin production with fortified milk, fatty fish, egg yolks and liver.

Vitamin E – It’s an antioxidant, so this natural vitamin helps to keep us from ageing too quickly. It also protects your cell membranes. You can find Vitamin E in polyunsaturated plant oils such as soybean, corn and canola oils, and also in wheat germ, sunflower seeds, tofu, avocado, sweet potatoes, shrimp and cod.

Vitamin K – You need this one to help your blood to clot. To make sure you’re getting enough, eat lots of Brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, spinach, broccoli, cabbage and liver.

The whole vitamin alphabet is important to keep you healthy and happy. Make sure that you eat a wide variety of vitamin-rich foods so that all of your nutritional needs are covered.

If you just can’t manage to get certain nutrients into your diet, there are supplements available. However, a well-balanced diet should provide you will everything you need for your body’s nutrition.

Herbal Breast Enlargement Pills

May 27th, 2010 >> Breast Actives

While many women choose to have breast implants to enhance their bust, this option is quite expensive, invasive and obviously has a certain recovery time involved with the procedure, requiring time off work and one’s usual activities. There is also time required for scars to heal.

A less invasive option is a course of herbal breast enlargement pills. Not only is this a safer and less painful option, but the breasts are enlarged by re-activating the growth of one’s own breast tissue, and so is a much more natural option. While it is slower and more gradual, the results are well worth a bit of patience. Some herbal breast enlargement programs also include a topical cream.

Breast development begins at puberty and is regulated by the balance of specific hormones. Medical research has shown that the development of breast tissue depends on the delicate balance of progesterone, estrogen, prostaglandins, prolactin and other compounds. An imbalance of these hormones can result in poor breast development or even a decrease in size.

Phytoestrogens are a group of substances found in plants that have moderate estrogenic properties. These phytoestrogens, through their natural balance of female hormones, promote the development of glandular breast tissue. Most women taking herbs containing these phytoestrogens notice a significant increase in the fullness and balance of their breasts.

Pills that stimulate hormone production have been linked to increasing the size of the breasts and many women swear by the results of this natural breast enhancement method. Herbal extracts such as fennel, saw palmetto, wild yam and fenugreek have long been used in herbal medicine treatments to balance the hormones. Most contain a high concentration of phytoestrogens, the chemicals that can stimulate breast tissue production and will ‘trick’ the body into thinking it is pregnant.

The “Breast Actives” program has been consistently rated as one of the most effective herbal breast enhancement programs.  This program consists of a herbal supplement pill, topical cream and exercise program.

Breast Enlargement Creams

Many women seek to learn if a breast enlargement creams give favorable consequences for them or not. The short secret to currently sensational matter is…probably yes and probably not! Due to the some potential quality of life ramifications of augmentation surgeries, coupled provided high rates and often unwanted results, more and more women now look for some natural alternatives for improving the sizes and firmness of their breasts. Breast Enlargement Creams

Breast enhancement creams are one of folks techniques but then, it depends upon the response of the person to the product. Not all creams would run for all ladies. To meet the demand, a plenty of women natural breast enhancement products have hit the market. This includes supplements, pills/lotions, creams/gels and sprays/pumps. A breast enhancement cream is one of the more famous products of these alternative treatments; however, there are very restricted scientific or anecdotal evidences of its effectiveness to increase the busts sizes since they differ greatly from other non-surgical breast Enhancement techniques as it becomes then topical cream versus a pill or capsule!

The potency and effectivity of the potent hormonal ingredients those activate the breast enhancement methods are dramatically settled when delivered by pills or capsules since they should go through the volatility of the alimentary canal and then travel across the entire body before arriving at the mammary glands (breasts). With the controversy of pills Some experts opine that the active ingredients in the nutraceutical grade woman breast enhancement cream are topically applied and trans-dermally bore through the epidermis (skinny layers) and directed towards the desired enhancement areas …therefore rendering higher levels of efficacious and enhancing effectiveness. Breast Enlargement Creams

They say that the active ingredients go directly towards the particular enhancement areas via scientifically advanced trans-dermal delivery systems…thus offering more effectiveness …quicker. Higher grades and more fresh ingredients may be used for processing trans-dermal deliveries. The natural breast enhancement creams generally contain ingredients similar to those based in the more effective herbal enhancer, including wild yams, black cohosh, fenugreeks, burdock roots, kelps and others.

Nevertheless, most of such products do contain enough active ingredients having any real effect on breast tissues. Moreover, most do contain the delivery systems required to bring stimulation extracts across the skin barriers, even if they do contain adequate amount of those herbal extracts. The breast enlargement creams may cause temporary skin irruption or irritation because of a reaction to some products, but this is only temporary and is not be confused with factual breast growth. Many women are duped by such initial tingling sensations, thinking to themselves “Great, it’s working!”

More researches need to be conducted for determining the effectiveness of breast enlargement pills, supplements and other programs. If they can in fact offer significant results, then it is believed that more women opt not to have surgeries, as the risks and costs are very high to overlook. If anyone is considering breast enhancement creams, make sure that she must have checked with her health care provider first. He or she will help her making some firm decision whether to go for the therapy or not. Start taking actions and work towards your dream figure! Download your Breast Enlargement Creams ebook now!
